Classification Task

U- viewing for all ages. Also it is impossible to predict what might upset any particular child. But a ‘U’ film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. ‘U’ films should be set within a positive moral framework and should offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence, threat or horror.


Pg-Viewing for all ages but has to be at the consent of the parents. Some scenes may be unsuitable for the younger audience of under eight.

12a- Viewing for 12 year olds or under when accompanied by an adult. Only exists for cinema films.

12- Viewing for only 12 years and over and can not buy or rent 12 rated films.
